The giants

The  first reference of the giants is from 1675 when the first couple were created. The second couple appeared in 1727. From our giants it is worth mentioning their evolution. The feminine figures have changed their image together with the fashion of the time -it was not until 1935 that they began to dress in a medieval style. Concerning the masculine figures they have always had the same noble image for the young giant, and the old one is dressed up as a warrior.

Specifically  the old giant, together with the dragon, is one of the most representative elements of the main festival. The people from Solsona have not accepted the changes and if we look at the old giant in the 19th century and in 1959 we see very few differences.
