The wheel of fire

This is the name for the three turns that the three fire beasts (the bull, the dragon and the mule) perform on the main square before the dances and every time that a cortege arrives.

From old times, we have old graphic documents showing the mule turning with lit fireworks near the arches of the main square. It is one of the most dynamic events of the celebration when the mule and the bull turn anticlockwise and the dragon turns around itself in the centre of the square. During the main festival there are eight fire wheels. This wheel of fire has the role of making space for the cortege.
